fy

HANDS ON: She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration from MUBS. During holidays, Fiona Arineitwe worked at her mother’s shop in Luzira, where she gained interest and experience in business.
What is the name of the business and why that name?
My business is called FIFIE’S Fashion trends and I named it so because I deal in trendy outfits. Fifie’s comes from my name Fiona.

Why of all business did you choose a boutique?
As a child, I worked in my mother’s shop so I got enough experience in the clothes business. And considering I studied Business Administration, it became much easier.

When did you start this business and how much did you invest?
After completing my S.6, my mother gave me capital of Shs1m and she advised me to deal in second hand clothes since she was dealing in Kitenge materials. The business started growing and I shifted from sharing a shop with her and went to Nakawa where I rented a small boutique. But this was when I joined university, so she told me to use the opportunity of selling clothes to my classmates plus targeting other students in different faculties. After university, I met the father of my son and he told me not to bother looking for jobs because he saw a fashion career in me. He promoted and boosted my business.

What kind of clothes do you sell?
I sell trending outfits for both male and female; office wear, casual classy wear as well as partying clothes.

How much do you sell your clothes?
The prices depend on what you want because clothes differ in materials hence the price changes. However, prices start from 50k up to 500k.

Where do you shop your clothes from?
I shop from Turkey, France, Dubai, USA, UK, and Thailand.

Where is the location of this boutique?
Fifie’s Fashion Trends is located in Kansanga after KIU next to Deuces Bar opposite KinderCare Pre School.

There are many boutiques on Gaaba Road. What assurance do you have to prove to people that yours is the best?
Fifie’s Fashion Trends is well known due to the services I offer, meaning I bring good quality stuff and at fair prices. Try me you won’t regret.

Besides clothes, what other items do you sell?
I also sell shoes for both men and ladies, hand bags, caps, jewellery, and men’s suits.

How much do you earn in a week from this business?
It depends on the number of clients we get because some days are bad and some days are good as well. So it’s hard to estimate.
