The music video : Kisasi Kimu by Sheebah

Shiba

There’s a certain feeling of unbelief, surprise coupled with ultimate contentment when you watch the Kisasi Kimu video. Without doubt, Sheebah and the team behind the video deserve those bragging rights.

It starts off with those aerial views of a battle field jungle that paint the picture most common with those action movies. With dust spewing in the air, an army truck with soldiers in a celebratory mood cruises away. It’s all too good to be true, and definitely too amazing to believe it to be a Ugandan music video. Yet, it is one.

The costumes are straight to the point, it’s back to the basics of guerilla fighter uniforms. A few sandbag walls here and there to bring out the imagery of the battlefronts. One thing for sure, the video nails all the aspects of camera control.
Whatever the investment in this video, it was worth it. True value for money. You don’t want to miss that chopper that flies over Sheebah. And to know that this video is directed by a Ugandan is a pointer for another day.

The enchantment created by the burning tires, the flames and smoke in the air is a scene too memorable. It’s a video that scratches your mind and leaves a lasting imprint. As usual, no one beats Sheebah in the dancing arena. She executes to the dot.
The video ends with a display of an exploding feminine energy. The fights in a makeshift ring. Surprisingly it’s at the end where the flaws come in. The video fails to keep up with the billing it started with. Not that the ending is mediocre, but it fails to hit the high expectations already primed in the mind of a viewer. It’s rather a calm ending, without much energy.
