How top comedians celebrated Idd

t

Ever since Mirinda Comedy was launched about three years ago, different comedy outfits have been holding shows every Wednesday at Laftaz Comedy Lounge. Idd do was not any different only that it was themed to fit the day.
The lounge was filled to capacity and by 7.30pm revelers were set for their weekly dose of laughter.
Almost all local comedians were lined up for the night’s performance in the show which was hosted by comedian Emma Napoleon.

The curtain raisers were upcoming comedians. The highlight was when comedian Patrick Salvador Idringi took to the stage. He cracked jokes about his wife who was also in the audience. He said, “I am not handsome but my children are brown and cute, at times I wonder if they are mine but I will never go for DNA.”
The other comical duo, which has proven to be the best when it comes to local comedy, was Madrat and Chicco. Besides recycling jokes; they kept the crowd laughing their lungs out with their reversal roles. However, they did their best to customise their performance to Idd and Muslims. The one that stood out was how Muslims have capitalised on herbal medicines and what they always do while in mosques.

The climax was when Amooti Omubalanguzi went on stage for his performance. He boasted how he is the only gospel singing comedian. This was after performing Mukama Oli Muyaye loosely translated as God you are a crook.
Other comedians who performed at the show included Mc Mariachi, Snake and Zolo, “Tamale Mirundi” among others.
