Breaking the fast is one of the key pillars in Islam, especially in the holy month of Ramadan but doing it with hundreds of people indeed earns someone a lot of rewards according to the holy book.

In this spirit of togetherness, on Sunday, business tycoon Hamis Kiggundu of Ham Towers broke the fast with a dinner that had most of the bigwigs in Kampala on the guest list.

Those who attended were Sudhir Ruparelia and his son Rajiv, Herbert Muwonge of Namanda Plaza, Yussuf Matovu of Youma, Godfrey Kirumira and Justine Lumumba Kasule, the secretary general of NRM among others.

The initially invite-only dinner eventually turned out bigger than expected as it attracted even other people from the surrounding areas of Kawuku, where Kiggundu’s mansion is situated.

The host first took some of his guests on a tour of his mansion before the prayers were held.

After which they were treated to a sumptuous dinner that had different kinds of food and drinks.

The 30-year-old businessman then thanked his friends for positively responding to his invite and also wished them happy Eid celebrations and thanked Allah for the gift of life and the wisdom to make money.

He also gave the youth tips on how to be rich, telling them to always put faith first before anything else. “Getting money is not hard at all but what is most important is to put God first before anything else,” he said.

On the other hand, Justine Lumumba complimented Ham for being a hardworking man from whom the youth should borrow a leaf. “The youth should embrace Ham’s skills of being creative and working hard to have a better future,” she said before advising them to stay focused on their goals.

Ham’s Iftar dinner comes at a time when millions of Muslims are set to celebrat Eid el Fitri that marks the end of the fasting period.
