Teenagers are not allowed to contest for Miss Uganda because it only allows entries for girls aged 18 and above. This though, doesn’t deter them from taking part in a pageant as they wait to turn 18. Miss Teen, a pageant that crowns only girls aged 13 to 18 will launch again tomorrow.
The 5th edition of the pageant will take place at Garden City Rooftop. While at the event, female teens will take back forms to compete in this year’s competition where each of them will represent their schools.
More than 40 girls will take part in the pageant but at the end of the search, only three will be crowned winners in a grand finale which will take place in August this year. The competition will involve different schools taking part in the competition; there will be schools from Kampala and upcountry.
At the end of the pageant, the winners will go home with school fees worth Shs3m for one year, the first and second runner up receive Shs2.5m and Shs1m respectively.
