Artiste Bobi Wine real names Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi has filed a suit against the Electoral Commission in the Commercial Court over copyright infringement through Busingye and Company Advocates.
The artiste based on the fact that the Electoral commission illegally used his song titled ‘Obululu’ in their adverts without his consent.
“As a result of infringement, my song was adulterated, pirated and plagiarized and has lost value. It can’t attract a sponsor for launching the reproduction right.” He said before adding that he intends to tender in court a copy of the said musical production on Compact Disc (CD) as evidence.
The ‘Promise’ artiste says that a substantial portion of the content of one of the edutainment productions was incorporated into and released as part of advertisements by the EC in 2015 and that adverts were played on radio stations, Tv stations as well as on the internet.
