The Details is a weird movie. Its director and writer Jacob Aaron Estes tries so hard to add twists to the otherwise ordinary love story without a lot of luck. The movie tells a story of a couple Jeff and Nealy Lang (Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks) that has been married for 10 years.
Like is frequent for many couples that have been married for that long, they are at a point where the spark in their relationship is faint. They are not in a good position and like expected are constantly fighting and quarreling.
They are driving each other crazy and the movie visualises the details of this and its consequences. But sometimes, it gives away much more information than they need. In fact, some scenes are so embarrassing, that you wouldn’t want to be caught watching them or for someone to watch you as you watch them.
It is a mediocre movie that is almost boring even though one or two scenes will make you chuckle. The acting, setting and costumes are ordinary. Watch this only if you are bored.
