A night of passion at UCF

worship-1

The University Community Fellowship (UCF) in Kikoni is the venue for an evening of worship dubbed Passion Nite fellowship which will be presided over by Pr Micah Rwothumio, who also happens to be the lead pastor of the same church.

In line with this year’s theme of ‘Making Jesus famous’, UCF embarked on a campaign to encourage people to be a part of charity activities as a means of sharing the love of Jesus. Different individuals especially the church congregation gathered and cleaned the community, unblocked trenches, collected rubbish as well as developing a water project at the church premises to provide free clean water to the community last month.
They continued their generosity this month by donating household items to different families in Kikoni slums.

Penny Tasumba, the coordinator of the worship night, said the event has very crazy youthful praise sessions. “Something that needs to be noted about ‘passion nite’ is that there are very crazy youthful praise sessions that can’t leave you the same. It is one that you cannot afford to miss.”
Entry to the event is free and it will start at 7pm to 11pm.
Passion Nite in Uganda started in 2008 when the US-based passion movement partnered with the University Community Fellowship (UCF) church and introduced the idea. The first worship night was held in 2008 at Makerere Sports Grounds and it featured leading gospel artistes Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill.
After the success of the first event, UCF has been holding Passion nights every Good Friday.
