You are a hypocrite – Bobi Wine tells Andrew Mwenda

Hate him or love him, Bobi Wine is by far, and probably the only star singer enjoying positive commentary from the masses at the moment. And he is enjoying it, and probably not about to let go.
For starters, Bobi Wine’s latest release, Situka, immediately turned him into a social media hero, for its strong message for the masses to stand up.
For many, this resonates well with Dr Kizza Besigye’s defiance campaign.
But away from music, Bobi Wine’s recent ideologies on social media have also made him a darling among the masses; for his “Free Dr Besigye” message.
And although his political knowledge remains uncertain to the public, that did not deter Bobi from taking on political analyst and Independent Magazine CEO Andrew Mwenda, who has lately been largely accused to be a regime apologist.
It all started when Mwenda posted on his Facebook wall a message about his visit to Besigye’s home. Mwenda also indicated that he had tried to convince the opposition leader to embrace dialogue as the way to building a better Uganda.
The post received several comments, most of which were attacking and abusive; Bobi’s was not different; the singer started his comment by referring to the self-proclaimed “Old man of the clan” as ‘hypocritical!”
The singer then went on to educate Mwenda that “We can only resolve Uganda’s problem by seeking truth and justice!”
“We cannot start using injustice as a way of drawing people to the talking table. This is not about M7 or Besigye, it’s about Ugandans,” Bobi went on.
Many people replied in support of Bobi’s comment and by press time, Mwenda had not responded to the singer’s comment.
While Bobi currently enjoys so much support on social media, fellow musicians that participated in the Tubonga Naawe dinner hosted by President Museveni and those that performed on the President’s campaign trail continue to get abusive comments on almost everything they say on social media.
Well, let’s see how it goes with Bobi and Mwenda!
