Angella Katatumba is living proof that good deeds never go unnoticed. A few weeks ago, the singer begun the year with a drive to improve Mulago hospital.
Dubbed ‘Mulago Yaffe,’ Katatumba said the campaign is aimed at uplifting the status of the country’s biggest government hospital.
She has since made several visits to Mulago and on each visit she had good news for the management. During one of her visits, she and her team from the Angella Katatumba Development Foundation, handed over a Shs10m cheque for the purchase of a photo-therapy machine and syringe pump for the Intensive Care unit.
Katatumba and team would return just weeks later to deliver the machine; and all this was witnessed by the facility publicist Enock Kusasira.
And as she was busy contacting different abled Ugandans to be part of the cause, Katatumba was both shocked and filled with excitement when she received an invitation from the United Nations.
The singer told us that she was invited and will be attending the debut World Humanitarian Summit.
An extremely excited Katatumba said: “I thank God for the opportunity and I am grateful that my efforts are being recognised and appreciated. I take with me the same message of uplifting Ugandans to the summit and I promise my presence there will not go to waste.”
