The music video : This is My Life – Fresh Papoose

video

Hustle, Hustle, hustle. We need no other argument other than this music video that Hip-hop artistes have hustled more than anyone in this industry. Straight away, I got the impression that Fresh Papoose was dangling on the strings, trying to shoot an epic music video without spending much of his dime.
The black and white suit was the first let out that something was not just right. Looked like another of those borrowed from vendors downtown to achieve a quick purpose. Then we have that lollipop which the video vixen sucks on the entire video. This is not a dream; this is Fresh Papoose’s life. Whether he was taking red or white wine, he has both glasses, but only one bottle. It is a dystopian music video in the sense that everything is just wrong. It is shot in one location, one camera angle; expect the monotony to set in. And if you think the lighting would help resuscitate it, it doesn’t. Instead, it sends the video further down the dark alleys.
Then it ends, out of nowhere. It never peaks. It is devoid of any special effects. It’s a video shot for the sake of having a visual story to the audio narrative. To be candid, this may be the worst music video I will ever force myself to review this year.
Is there good in the bad? Probably that this video serves as an example of how to shoot a video that won’t take you anywhere. And for those aspiring towards optical nutrition, you may have the girl’s body to ogle at. Beyond that, Fresh Papoose ought to give a fresh touch to this music video, re-shoot it, and get someone to compile a fitting storyline, and fitting characters. Is that too much to ask for?
