Did you know tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia turned 60? Yes he did, and his children threw him a party at his plush Kololo residence last Saturday. The party attracted several wealthy businessmen and women from the Kwagalana group, as well as Bob Kabonero, BoU Governor Emmanuel Mutebile, Information Minister Jim Muhwezi and Dr Martin Aliker, among others. However, we were more impressed by one individual in attendance, tycoon Karim Hirji.
There have been rumours about the relationship between Sudhir and Hirji. Most stories pointed to allegations that they do not even see eye-to-eye, but let’s say those were just rumours.
Rumours, because we now have enough proof that two of Uganda’s most loaded businessmen actually see eye-to eye and can also hold a conversation and even laugh.
Karim and Sudhir shared a light moment during the party and our photographer was very alert and captured the moment.
Which brings us to another point; when was the last time you ever saw the Imperial group boss at a party or even in the news for that matter? This was an extraordinary moment and we thought it best to share with you. And lastly, join us to wish Dr Sudhir a belated happy 60th birthday!
