The main thing one will notice about this gadget is that it’s huge. It’s a little hefty, weighing over 700g, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. This is a tablet with a brilliant screen, four powerful speakers and a great accessory ecosystem.
The iPad Pro is Apple’s largest iPad yet, with a 12.9-inch 2732 x 2048 resolution display. It is available in gold, silver, and space gray, like the rest of the iPad lineup.
The upshot of the iPad Pro is that it’s just a fantastically powerful tablet, one that can do pretty much anything offered by app developers at the moment. Externally, the iPad Pro looks like a giant iPad Air 2, but its internal hardware puts it at par with desktop-class machines.
The Smart Keyboard is another device that apple fanatics have been waiting to see from Apple for years now, and it’s also a nifty addition to this gadget. The Smart Keyboard is essentially a smart cover with an in-built keyboard.
There is also an optional Apple pencil, a pressure-sensitive stylus with multiple sensors that are able to detect position, force, and tilt. Combined with the iPad Pro’s display, it’s accurate enough to touch a single pixel on the screen, making it perfect for artists.
There’s an 8-megapixel rear camera for taking photos, and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Prices
Announced last week, Apple will release the gadget in November and you can order it online. Pricing for the iPad Pro starts at $799 (about Shs2.8m) for the entry-level 32GB Wi-Fi only model. A 128GB Wi-Fi only model will be available for $949 (abour Shs3.4m), and a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model will retail at $1,079 (about Shs3.88m). The iPad Pro’s accessories, the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, will be sold separately. The Apple Pencil will be priced at $99 (about Shs350,000), while the Smart Keyboard will retail for $169 (about Shs608,000).
