The music video : Tekinanta – Spice Diana

Why do I get this intuitive feeling at the beginning of this video that it is trying to copy from the Girlie ‘O’ remix by Patoranking and Tiwa Savage? Especially those indoor scenes, there is too much perception that Spice Diana is trying to bring out a Tiwa Savage in her. It could be one of those many visual coincidences but there is a very high probability everything about this video tried to borrow from that Patoranking video. On that point, the video ceases to be original.
Not that the coincidences are the only flaws, the video is littered with some of the worst effects. On those outdoor scenes, they tried to make it seem like a musical carnival or festival, but it ended like those classic Christmas lightings. Spice all that with the many shadows around the faces of the characters and the darkened visuals that make a viewer struggle as they watch the video.
The video is only able to reclaim itself later during the pool scenes and those scenes around the wire meshes. Spice Diana finally brings out the real her, and begins to act out the scenes naturally. One thing that must be commended about her is that even when she is all artificial, her natural energy is apparent and undeniable.
Finally, when the video comes to an end, I realise that it had lots of different locations that it could have milked yet chose to hurriedly jump through each of them. There could have been confusion of thought on the part of the director as he struggled to make a choice between different scenes and which scenes to take precedence. The music video would have come off better if the director focused his energy on particular scenes and made the most out of them.
