Last week, Lillian Kelle Butele, who was part of the 90s girl rap duo Prim n’ Propa launched a children’s book, Bad Touch at Protea Hotel in Kampala. The book speaks against child sexual abuse.
As a victim of child abuse, it is not surprising that she identifies with people who have risen above child abuse.
During the book launch, Lillian B. Kelle Foundation awarded former Miss Uganda contestant, Aisha Nabukeera and toddler Arnella Kamanzi, who have both suffered abuse.
Nabukeera was physically scarred as a result of abuse she suffered at the hands of a step mother when she was 13. She was among the 2015 Miss Uganda contestants and she made it to the top 10. She was given the Star Brave and Courageous Award for not allowing the scars to hold her back, and coming out as a poster child of the anti children’s abuse campaign in Uganda, as her story resonates with people across the country.
Arnella, who was in the monster maid video that went viral, was given an Inspirational Survivor Award.
She was in the company of her parents and looked jolly. And upon receiving the award, Arnella’s parents thanked everyone that raised awareness to ensure justice for children, especially their daughter’s was served.
