Connie’s tiffs : The customer is king in case you forgot

Keeping Last week I bought a tin of pringles from some supermarket in Bugolobi. When I reached home, I realised that they were expired. I got so mad and disappointed but considering that I was not a regular at this supermarket, I let it go.
However, reading the story doing rounds on the social networks about an ill- treated customer at Capital Shoppers Supermarket had me thinking out loud. And while we await the PR team at the supermarket to wake up and do the necessary, one cannot stop but wonder; for how long will some of these supermarkets take their customers for granted? I mean, isn’t it obvious that constant quality checks of the products being sold is necessary?
One might understand if this happened at some dingy retail shop deep down in the village that had no clue about the essence of customer care, but when it comes to a supermarket of this kind, then one cannot shake off the agitation.
Could it be that such supermarkets have ceased to care and simply take their clients for granted? I think it’s high time that all business entities learnt that the Ugandan customer is becoming more sophisticated as the years go by. The customer knows their right and will speak out as deemed necessary. So this business of uncouth “managers” intimidating loyal clients should stop.
Meanwhile in this mix, there is a weird couple that comprises one blonde babe who made her way to TV by presenting one limping TV programme before her nude photos leaked, a situation that had her fired from a top TV station, after which she quickly flew to the arms of another bizarre fellow.
One whose claim to fame was flaunting stolen dollars for which he got arrested. Banaye and the media has picked up the two weirdos, accorded them airplay in the form of a tycoon dating oba which best name suits the babe in this case? Please do not ask me for this couple’s names because I do not have the time to even type them out, yes, that is how irrelevant they are to society.
I mean if stealing money, spending it recklessly and getting arrested for it makes one a tycoon then we need help!  Even further, if losing a job over leaked nudes, having a two man party (mbu celebrating a birthday) and walking hand-in-hand with an ex-convict makes news then this city has gone to the dogs. As if telling a worth it story from one that does not require any attention is such rocket science!
