The Katatumbas splurge Shs500m on Dubai vacation

The past few years have been tough for the Katatumba family, especially since they were battling for their properties including Shumuk (Blacklines) House and Hotel Diplomate with Indian businessman Mukesh Shukla.
They recently won the court battle and the properties were restored in their possession. The battle lasted more than five years so now that it is all behind them, they have decided to take a long needed vacation.
Patriach Bonny Katatumba who also happens to be the honorary consul of Pakistan to Uganda, his wife plus one of their boys and singer Angella Katatumba are now on holiday.
Sources tell us that they will hit UK and the US, but their first stop is Dubai where they will be spending three weeks. And they are spending in the real sense of the word. They are spending $1,000 (Shs3m) a room a night for four family members making it Shs12m a night at Dubai’s Hilton Hotel. That means accommodation alone will set them back Shs252m! Throw in business class air tickets and shopping, and their holiday could well be over Shs500m! But they surely deserved to wind down.
