For all these years, veteran singer Joanita Kawalya has stood out as an inspirational figure in several aspects; she’s a talented musician, a mother, and a leader in Afrigo Band.
With three decades in the limelight, Joanita maintains a stain-free record- at least publicly. The singer who is referred to as Mama by many, has always walked with her head high, and she is set to raise it even higher come 2016. Sources close to the Jim Wange singer told us that she recently picked forms for the race of the Woman Member of Parliament for Wakiso District.
She will, however, have to convince voters that she is better than the incumbent, NRM’s Rosemary Seninde come 2016. Joanita joins gospel singer Judith Babirye, who announced her intentions for the Buikwe District Woman MP race a couple of years back. All the best.
