Fun Factory to root for voter registration

On the outlook, one might rush into conclusion that the Fun Factory comedy outfit is ‘in things’. But it’s not what it sounds like. U-Turn comedians are proving their patriotism by extending free services that will benefit their country.
Fun Factory recently entered into a partnership with Citizen’s Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) to use their theatre platform to spread awareness about participating in the new voter’s register update and also registering to vote.
According to Fun Factory publicity director Richard Tuwangye, the outfit is doing this as corporate social responsibility. “Fun factory will not be charging professional fees from CCEDU nor Electoral Commission, but rather we felt it was in our mandate to use our platform to promote programmes that influence the social economic texture of the Ugandan society,” Tuwangye told us.
He added that in the next six weeks, Fun Factory’s hillarious situational comedy sketches will be crafted around the need to register to vote.
“The skits will be broadcast on our social media platforms and in our skits at our weekly comedy shows at the National Theatre,” he said. Way to go Fun Factory.
