App: Super beam

File transfer is a task many smart phone users do frequently. They may be image files, video files, audios or any other document.  While small files can easily be shared using Bluetooth, it’s not the case for big files. Bluetooth may consume much more time and battery. Cloud storage like Dropbox wouldn’t work either; it would clog your Internet. That is where Superbeam comes in. It is one of the fastest file transfer apps available on Google playstore.
Superbeam is a free app that allows Android users to share large files using Wi-Fi direct. Devices can be paired using QR codes, NFC or a manual sharing key.
This application has a very simple and easy interface. You simply selects the file you want to share with another device and select share via Superbeam. However, note that this app should be installed on both devices to send and receive files.
The app will generate a barcode. Scan the barcode with superbeam’s built-in barcode reader on the receiver’s device.  After this, simply transfer the selected files.
This app only works with Android 4.0 and later versions, if you has an older version, you ought to search for your QR codes to enable app to work.
Sometimes Wi-Fi direct may not work for all devices, superbeam can still connect with other devices including your computer with existing Wi-Fi connections. The only disadvantage are the ads that appear on the free version of superbeam. This can be avioded by buying the pro version.
