The track : Only you – Chameleon ft. Patoranking

Even with a lot of controversy surrounding Chameleone, especially after the case in which he is linked to the murder of one Robert Karamaji who passed away after succumbing to wounds sustained from the singer’s Seguku home has been re-opened, making music is still the order of the day for him.
On his latest track, Only You, he features Nigerian reggae artiste Patoranking of the Girlie O fame. Such a collaboration may be looked as a desperate move to keep up with the fresh acts like Radio and Weasel who featured Wizkid and Eddy Kenzo who remixed one of his songs with Kcee, capturing a continental market. But again, it can be looked at as a smart move for the Ugandan music industry as more of our musicians get exposed.  Kick starting this dancehall track is Patoranking with the intro. His vocals cannot be mistaken for anyone else and so does Chameleone check in with his coarse voice, blending in perfectly in the chorus. The song is seasoned with simple lyrics in mainly English and Swahili, a typical jam set to capture Africa with diversity of language.
If one has listened to Sanko by Timaya, then the beats of this track are a little familiar despite the instrumental on this one having a slower tempo.  Even if this track needs time to claim the airwaves it has the potential to get on to any one’s playlist.
