The Kids’ Climate change conference returns in April

gsp-mase
Last year, Uganda’s Little Hands go Green registered yet another element on to the annual Kid’s events calendar. The organisers of the famous My Kid is a Superstar fun events and the annual Superstar talent search, organised the first ever Children’s Climate Change Conference.   It was not just the first in Uganda, but the first across the region!
During the conference, over 200 child delegates from several schools across the country, converged at the GEMS Cambridge International School and participated in a debate about issues to do with climate change.
Joseph Masembe, the CEO Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green tells us the conference will be back this April.
Masembe told us that just like the debut conference last July, this year’s conference will bring together another 200 child delegates that will discuss environment-related issues under the theme “The child citizen-finding our own solutions for our environment.’
Unlike last year’s conference that came after the annual mid-year Superstar Gids Green Festival, this time round the conference comes months earlier and all delegates that will participate in the conference will automatically win tickets to the green festival that will be held at the Kololo Airstrip in August!
According to Masembe, the purpose of the one-day conference that will be held at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel is to give a voice to the thoughts and views of children on the war on climate change.
And after the conference, every child delegate will be rewarded with a free fruit tree that they will take and plant in their homes.
