BREATHTAKING: At the hangout, you get to view the whole of Kampala City, writes Edgar R. Batte

For all it’s worth for, Georgina Gardens boasts of a breathtaking view of Kampala. There is relaxing ambiance at the hilltop that makes it worth the climb or drive-up. The gardens will allow you a beautiful and relaxing scenery, with an almost full view of the capital city, Kampala.
The gardens are well mowed and arranged with sitting facilities from which you can enjoy roasted chicken and goat muchomo among other meats plus an array of drinks to wash them down. The prime spot is still partially undergoing construction but activities are in high gear.
Last weekend alone, there was a graduation party, wedding events and Afrigo Band on Sunday night, with a music show that rocked revellers to shake their bones. Definitely this is a place you want to take your favourite girl or dude and relax because the air there is cool and clean.
It is located at the pinnacle of the hill in Lubya, a kilometre from the Kasubi Tombs. If you are to walk up, prepare to release a few drops of sweat especially if you are unfit because the climb is relatively sharp. Otherwise for those using private means, there is assured parking, with two spots that can accommodate up to 250 vehicles.
“We are planning to introduce more on our menu as we interact with customers to learn about their preferences,” the proprietor George Mutebi says. But he is quick to add that this should be a good spot for weddings.
And whereas Mutebi assures us about good security, he cautions customers not to leave valuables in their vehicles which they can deposit at the reception area.
Part of his plans include, swimming pool facilities, one for adults and another for children. “I am also planning a well-facilitated children’s park. I am soon putting up a sauna, steam bath and massage. Later on, I plan to put up a hotel with conference facilities,” the businessman divulges. These are part of a five-year plan. The facility sits on four acres of land.
