App : Doulingo

app

The fact that we live in a global village, learning a second or third language would boost one’s survival in this world. And with technology, learning a new language should not be stressful anymore, not with the invention of the Doulingo app. This free app is more like other language training programmes where a user will work through activities or exercises to complete a lesson. The difference between Doulingo and other language apps is that after a number of lessons one has an option to practice by translating real content from the web into English, but since the learner is not exposed to every word in the random sample select, there is an option to find out the meaning of the word as one continues translating. Apart from that, Doulingo also integrates fun in the learning process, with writing exercises, spelling bees, among others. However this app is good for mainly four languages; French, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Another downside of this app is that the correct answers for some exercises do not make sense, which one can notice if he or she knows the language.
