Promoter deserts Chris Martin

From the time of his arrival, Jamaican singer Chris Martin was faced with one problem after another. From the airport, Martin was shocked to know that he had been booked in a different hotel from the rest of his crew.

The singer had to put up an argument with the show’s promoter David Kibuuka of One Nation Entertainment in order to have his crew members booked at the same hotel where he had been booked. By the agreed time of performance, Chris Martin was still at the Sheraton Hotel and no one was there to pick him and his crew to the concert venue.

When he finally got means, he almost passed out in shock after finding only about 15 people as the crowd he had to perform for. Meanwhile, the singer had only been paid half of the agreed payment by the promoter.

And after the concert, Chris Martin, who swore never to step foot in Kampala returned to his hotel room and concentrated on calling the promoter for his balance; but his phone calls went unanswered.

On Sunday, Chris Martin was supposed to perform at Aero Beach, but the show also didn’t take place as the promoter who was supposed to be coordinating, went awol.
Things got tougher on Monday when the singer remained stuck at Sheraton Hotel, but with no link to the promoter. Chris Martin was still in Kampala by press time and he was still expecting $20,000 (Shs52m) from the promoter who had vanished in thin air.
