I won’t trade my morals for money, Bobi Wine fires back after UK performance ban over anti-gay lyrics

Bobi Wine
Earlier this week, we received news that singer Bobi Wine had been barred from performing at the Troxy Arena in UK. Bobi was allegedly barred by the Troxy Arena Management because of sharp anti-gay lyrics in one of his songs. According to an article carried on www.gaystarnews.com, Bobi who was set to perform with the Ebonies, was banned due to a statement he made in one of his upcoming songs urging people to “shoot all the battymen!”
“Troxy Arena management has confirmed that Bobi Wine will not be allowed to perform in their arena as they do not tolerate hate towards LGBT minority,” read part of the article.
According to article, Bobi allegedly appeared in one of the episodes of his reality TV show that was screened recently, writing lyrics for a new song. “If you’re a man, you better be a man. If you’re a girl, you better stay a girl.
Question, why do you do the abomination?
Some men dress like a b*tch and get it like a b*tch. They stink like fish. Fire will burn the battyman. Burn all the batty man. All Ugandans get behind me and fight the battyman.”
But Bobi is not about to bend his morals just because of a performance in London. “You cannot buy my morals. I have my rights. I didn’t incite violence, I only stood up for my Constitution, my culture and my religion. Where I come from, the way I was raised, we have mummy and daddy, brothers and sisters, I don’t know about daddy and daddy and zero,” Bobi told us during a phone interview.
Meanwhile the Drum Theatre in Birmingham, where Bobi is also slated to perform said they could take “no responsibility” for the views of one of the performing artistes. They said they were not aware of his comments or his song content.
Bobi said that he is grateful to his president Yoweri Museveni and the Parliament of Uganda for standing up to “silly” foreign behaviour. He also argued that he got his statement “fire burn battymen,” from the Bible, which says that whoever does a wrong thing should burn in hell!
