Namubiru given special treatment on return to Japan

So many Ugandans did not believe her when she announced that she had been acquitted of criminal charges by the courts in Japan. But the doubting Thomases should be eating their words now, as singer Iryn Namubiru landed in Japan on Monday morning. Iryn returned to the Asian nation a year and two months since she was arrested and detained for days after she was allegedly found in possession of illegal drugs.
In her defence, Iryn faulted the promoter that had hired her to perform in Japan, a one Kim Tumwesigye alias Ueno, as having set her up after he allegedly told her to help him deliver the luggage that contained the illegal stuff.

Iryn was found innocent while Tumwesigye would later face arrest and is serving a prison sentence in Japan up to date.
Iryn returned to Japan to perform at the CEO/ Founder of the Happy Science religion Master Ryuho Okawa’s birthday celebrations.
“She performed at the event that attracted over 50,000 people. It was held on Monday at the Super Arena Saitama in Tokyo,” Irene’s manager Thadeus Mubiru told us during a telephone conversation.

According to Mubiru, Iryn was invited because she is one of the artistes that recorded a song with the Happy Science team; the song is called Happy.
Other musicians like Jose Chameleone recorded songs with the team, but we are yet to find out why they were not invited for the do.
Meanwhile, Iryn was all praises for the way she was pampered while in Japan. The singer who posted photos of her dressing room and her rehearsals on Facebook, told us that she had 24-hour security detail and a personal assistant. “It’s my first time to be treated to such levels of professionalism,” she said.
Meanwhile, Irene took some time off and visited the Chiba Prosecutor’s office in Japan, the office that handled her case and also ensured Tumwesigye was brought to justice. “She wanted to thank them and also follow up on Tumwesigye,” Mubiru told us.
