KFM’s Deweyi IS HEpatitis B ambassador

KFM presenter Jackie Deweyi is quite a talented individual. Besides radio presenting, Deweyi is also a singer. And a few weeks back, she was named the Hepatitis B Ambassador. And as expected of an ambassador, Deweyi kick-started campaigns against the killer disease in Uganda. “I came up with a full album dedicated to ending Hepatitis B in Uganda. This album is called Oukawumunabi (Gishu for Hope),” Deweyi told us.

But unlike several musicians that suffer with venues and other things that come with organising album launches, Deweyi decided to launch her Hope album on Twitter. “It’s a twitter launch party organised to announce the #HopeAlbum/ #StopHepatitisB campaign. It will happen on twitter and people will chat under the #tag #HopeAlbum,” Deweyi explained.

Deweyi told us that she is working in conjunction with The National Organisation for People Living with Hepatitis B in Uganda (NOPLHB). “ I want to use this to raise awareness about this silent killer disease. I also want to raise money to produce a documentary about Hepatitis B in Uganda. I call upon all my fans, friends and everyone who cares about stopping Hepatitis B to buy my upcoming album and join the cause.” All the best Deweyi!
