I was driving to Mbarara and despite the excitement that comes with a road trip for me, I was very calm and ready to take my time in the interest of safety.
This car drove past me at a pace that I did not quite get. Anyways, we met along the way again but the driver whose number plate I will not disclose seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. The guy kept on hurling insults at anyone who crossed his path.
Unfortunately, the third time that I met this person, it was a sad sight. His car had crushed beyond repair. And the person had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
It was so sad and I just could not help but wonder why some people choose to hit the road even when their minds are not in the right state.
I know that sometimes it can be almost impossible to concentrate when the world around you seems to be too alert for your liking but at the end of the day, what is better than life in whichever state?
Take this driver for example; his life was endangered because of getting too ambitious in the interest of concluding everything in a second.
Such an absurd way to end the week. I think we owe it to ourselves to value our most precious gift, which is life. At the end of the day, no emergency situation is worth giving up our all. Life is too precious to be thrown away just like that and I believe we all do agree with me on this note, right?
