Fashion Tip: What you wear with a pleated skirt will make or break it

If you love to keep your look ladylike, but stylish, then the pleated skirt is just what you need. Pleated skirts are back and have proven to be a favourite at major international fashion shows.

The beauty about wearing this skirt is that you can opt for the mini skirt or the maxi floor length, depending on your fashion preferences. Play around with the various colour options — from the dark shades like black and army green, to the bright hues like neons.

Whichever of the two you prefer, be mindful about how you blend the other items in your look, with the pleated skirt.

The top that you choose to wear is key. It has to be striking while gracefully blending in with your skirt. The cutest way to rock your skirt is to have the top tucked in. You can then throw on statement chain, or a nice pendant.

Accessorise creatively
You can for instance wear a turquoise pleated mini skirt, and then throw on a cream chiffon top, have it tucked in, and then add a slim waist belt to complete the look. If you opt for a maxi pleated skirt, then you can have on a vest and complete this with a leather studded jacket.

The other important element when wearing this skirt is the shoes. You have a variety to choose from: Oxfords, ankle boots or strappy heels.

Every woman’s aim is to have her outfit stand out. To achieve this, you will have to play around with accessories. Experiment with some cute clutch bags, envelope purses, jewellery, and even sunglasses!
