The track: Sejjusa – MUN G feat Grey Naava

Mun G

Just like there is a lot of bliss in ignorance, there too can be a lot of comfort in living in a state where you are never taken seriously. It is something the arts are really well primed for, that you can go ahead and publically say things that on another forum, could easily win you a few nights on the hard, cold, lice infested floors of the university of understanding.

On this simple silly song, MUN G and Naava are high on hyperactive excitement. Tonight, they want to dance, because they do not give a … (fill in whatever words you find fitting). They sound like a bunch of unworried teenagers out to have a great time. It is all plain sailing until that point where they say, “sejjusa.”

I know it is just a word, a Luganda term translated to mean “I do not regret.” But well, we can never really divorce anything from the times in which it lives —no— at least not so fast. And you cannot help notice MUN G’s usual cheekiness all over that auto-tuned interjection. Ah well, he is only a musician, isn’t he! They should not be taken seriously. They only want to have a good time, because they do not care.
