The year 2013 will surely be memorable for Ugandan world music star Joel Sebunjo. Just last weekend, Joel was one of the opening acts at the Manchester City Vs Hull City soccer game at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, United Kingdom.

A few weeks ago, Sebunjo embarked on a UK tour, has performed in some of England’s biggest cities and along the way, he shared stages with several big names including Emmanuel Jal from Sudan, Rico Oquadro from Brazil, Alesh and Mafikizolo from South Africa. However, ahead of his return, the 2013 French Visas Pour La Creation award winner, will be one of the few artistes to grace the opening gala of the Tusker Project Fame 6 in Nairobi.

According to a source close to Sebunjo, he was sought by a Nairobi-based agency that found his style that involves use of African made musical instruments and themes the true inspiration of the continent’s music.
Sebunjo is well-known for his use of native African instruments like the Kora, to create a definitively Pan African beat which has progressively won him fans around the world.

Sebunjo will be the second African genre artiste to headline at a TPF opening gala after Kenya’s legendary Ayud Ogada who performed a year ago.
