Ruparelia Foundation bankrolls Miss Tourism

After Miss Uganda, the tourism sector through its line ministry decided to start their own beauty pageant dubbed Miss Tourism.

Auditions for the pageant were held at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel last month and a total of nineteen contestants were chosen!

As you read this, the contestants are doing a country wide tour of different tourist destinations ranging from game parks to cultural centres.

But all this couldn’t be possible without the organisers getting a shot in the arm; Ruparelia group of companies emerged as the first organisation to fund the initiative.

Mrs Tina Ajay, the personal assistant to Sudhir Ruparelia, the chairman Ruparelia Group of Companies handed over a Shs10m checque to Edwin Muzahura, the head of marketing and PR Uganda Tourism Board on Tuesday.

Mrs Aje said Ruparelia Group of companies being major stakeholders in the hospitality business in the country were impressed by the idea and pledged to give more support to the iniative.

The Miss Tourism pageant is slated for October 26th at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
