Fashion Tip: Metal plated belt: colour on your wrist

Haguma

I am one of those people that do not pay particular attention to waist belts. It’s simply one of those accessories I feel I can do without. However, I had a little change of mind the first time I set my eyes on the metal plated belt. It is very elegant and can help spice up even the worst of clothing items.

The belt that comes in two shades – gold and silver, can be used to spice up a peplum dress, top, maxi lacy dress or even a pencil skirt and vest look.

You need to be cautious however, on how you add it to your outfit. Ensure that the other items, especially the accessories are understated so as to let the belt stand out.

This item can also work for those that are not fans of the neon colour trend.

For instance, if you wore a little white dress, and needed some colour, but you are not a fan of neon, do not despair. The metal plated belt can be help you achieve this, and still manage to keep your look toned down and at the same time, very outstanding.

Alternatively, spice up your pink maxi skirt and vest look, by wearing a metal plated belt, or royal blue high waisted pants with a silver plated belt.

Whichever way you choose to wear it, ensure that you choose a shade of the plate basing on the colours in your outfit. While a gold shade may work on a white outfit, it may not necessarily work on another colour, like royal blue.

So, as part of your new month’s resolutions, lose some of those colourful tiny waist belts piled up in your closet, and invest in a few metal plated belts.
