“I   was tired of being refered to as a local star! It hurt me and I promised myself I would do anything to prove to my fans that I can get to the international level. Muslims go to Mecca for purification, Catholics go to Rome, I am headed to Jamaica to start my international career,” singer Bobi Wine told us shortly before he left for Jamaica. Bobi has been in Jamaica for over a week now.

The ghetto president flew to Kingston to shoot a video for his duet with Jamaican dancehall singer Mr G. The song, titled Out & Clean, was released two weeks ago and while the song is not yet big in Uganda, it is doing quite well in Jamaica.
Bobi is said to have footed all the bills for his trip to Jamaica. “He told us he invested $30,000 (about Shs77m) in the Jamaican trip,” a source told us.

And with the photo evidence on his Facebook wall, Bobi will live to remember his historical trip to Kingston. “I’ve met almost every music icon I’ve ever admired. I met and had a drink with Jamaica’s most wanted, Bounty Killer, dancehall legends Toni Mata and Mega Banton, what more do I want?” Bobi asked. However, Bobi said he was sad that he couldn’t meet Bujju Banton, who is still serving a jail term in the US.

Bobi and Mr G shot the Out & Clean video over the weekend before they hit Cash Flow Records studio to record more duets. Bobi also worked with Birch CEO, Christopher Birch, a platinum producer who has recorded for  Shaggy, Konshens and many other top Jamaican artistes.
