A few weeks ago, Nigerian-born promoter Chinedu Ikoroha aka Chin Cee Cee of Cee Cee Entertainment excited music lovers when he announced that the Mavado concert was still on for the Easter weekend. The show had earlier been postponed from December 29, to January 12 and to this Easter weekend. However, it is still not going to take place as earlier this week, Cee Cee could only chew his own words as he told his close friends that he could not afford air tickets for Mavado and his crew.

According to sources close to Cee Cee, Mavado is believed to have asked for business class air tickets for him and his band members. “The air tickets totaled to $38,000 (about Shs99m).” a source told us.
According to the source, Cee Cee approached UBL, (the sponsors of the failed show) but they were not willing to listen to him, as they didn’t want to inject more money into a failed show that has already brought them some disrepute. We are yet to know of Cee Cee’s next step.
