I am innocent, says Chameleone

There are two common statements on Chameleone’s lips for the past few times we have bumped into him, “I’m innocent and I’m not above the law!” Chameleone is under pressure over the death of one Karamagi, who allegedly trespassed and set himself ablaze at the singer’s Sseguku home during the festive season.” Some people speculate it is Chameleone and his clique who torched the deceased. However, the singer maintains that the criticism surrounding the incident is unfair to him, more so because the Police who even visited the scene of the incident have not come out to implicate him in any wrong doing.

In fact, rumours made rounds on social networking websites that Chameleone’s passport had been confiscated by police in connection with the incident and as a result he could not travel to Dubai for a show, but the singer who spoke to Sqoop challenged his critics to come out and prove that his passport was confiscated by authorities as he tried to fly for a show in Dubai. “I cancelled the Dubai concert to avoid the further spread of the rumours that I’m running away. Those rumours started when I went to Juba for a gig and they were spreading like a wild fire. I’m innocent and I’m not running away from anything,” Chameleone told us.

The singer, wearing a big smile, also flashed his passport to us and laughed off allegations that it had been confisticated. “I cancelled so many shows including a deal to record a duet with Sean Kingston. He had given me January as the month to do the duet, but I’m staying here to see justice take its course!” Chameleone added.

The singer was reluctant to respond whether his Moto Moto concert that had earlier been slated for February 1 would take place.
