He has a full time day job, he is a comedian and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fun Factory outfit but Hannington Bugingo is adding more to his plate. Besides his job as a copywriter at Metropolitan Republic advertising agency, Bugingo aka Bujju has been secretly doing a new TV series under his Hannington Bugingo Productions.
Bujju’s new baby is dubbed Banana Republic and he is currently in talks with interested sponsors and networks like NTV and Africa Magic to air the series.
“We have done several episodes so far and I can promise this is set to be the biggest locally produced TV series,” Bugingo told us. While we wonder whether Banana Republic get big to the levels of The Hostel, we can reliably reveal that the series has a very rich cast that includes names like Bugingo himself, Veronica Tindichebwa Natasha Sinayobye, Ann Kansiime, Prynce Okuyo (of the Nile Special adverts), Micheal Wawuyo, Wiberforce Mutete, Micheal Kasaija and Aisha Kyomuhangi. The storyline revolves around how people struggle to survive in this highly charged corporate environment, laced with drama, power struggle, scandal and everything else in between.
