McGuffin, played Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is making racing his life as a bike-messenger.
He is tasked to deliver a mysterious parcel that some exceedingly dangerous folks are willing to kill for. So you have speed and action combined as the trailer shows. It’s an adrenaline rush as McGuffin goes to great lengths to save the parcel that one man is determined to obtain. The man is Michael Shannon and he stars as Bobby Monday.

This film is the latest directorial effort from script-doctor-extraordinaire David Koepp who has screen-written Spider-Man, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Jurassic Park, amongst others.

It has largely enjoyed positive reviews. Movie critic Liam G writes on Rotten Tomatoes that the plot of the movie becomes more and more ridiculous as the film goes along, but benefits from being stylish, providing adrenaline-pumping action scenes and strong performances, in particular from Michael Shannon.

Paul O, another critic give props for the close shots of cycling that make the bike scenes more exhilarating than some car chase scenes.
“With a witty main character and an insane Michael Shannon, Premium Rush is an intense ride throughout NYC with a loose story that keeps itself grounded in the end. The concept was bold and the movie did deliver,” he adds.
