Iryn, Desire to record with Motown legends

We recently told you about the Nile Diaspora International Film Festival (NDIFF) due December 8-15. It will bring together musicians, film makers, directors, scriptwriters, producers, fashion designers and photographers. The latest is that our own Iryn Namubiru and Desire Luzinda are set to expand their global visibility after recording a song with Motown legends Pauli Carman, Skyler Jet and Lenny Williams.

The trio was part of ‘70s and ‘80s RnB and soul eras in the Commodores group that also had Lionel Richie before he went solo. The song, whose title we are yet to know, is in early production stages. We shall keep you updated on this. However, there is confirmation of Angola’s Cabo Snoop coming too.

According to Phad Mutumba, NDIFF’s founder and CEO, they are in talks with three big names in Nigeria and one from Ghana as well. Jean Pierre Bekolo of Cameroon, one of the best West African producers to come for the event. Other confirmed stars include Barry Orms, a former professional basketball player turned writer, producer and music industry executive. He is co-writer and co-producer of the “very athletic” musical Bonesball which he originally co-produced with his former teammate and NBA Hall of Famer Earl “the Pearl” Monroe.
