THE MUSIC VIDEO: Beauty by Chameleone and Sami

This is another example of both Chameleone’s versatility and claims of the best in as far as

artistry in Uganda’s music is concerned. He at the moment has a hit song in the form of Valu Valu.
One of the most requested jams in nightclubs at the moment is his, but so far from Valu Valu in design yet it still is as banging as most of Chamili’s jams.

Personally Jose Chameleone is my favourite artiste simply because he tries to keep himself
relevant and at the same time his music is not as predictable as most of his peers. Dude will hit
you with one of those luganda “soul searching” tracks like Basiima Ogenze then follow it up with an
English track like Movie Star, and then flip it on you with Valu Valu. This is someone who takes his
trade seriously.

Beauty featuring that dude from Eritrea called Sami (that dude who had a beautiful collabo with
Jackie Chandiru) is a certified banger. I first heard that track on DJ Alex’s Dance Force (yeah I still
do listen to that Alex dude) as I was heading to Guvnor and boy did it have me and my buddies in
the car all excited. Just a quick question, where the hell are the Goodlyfe Crew?

No, I ain’t trying to start any “beef” but Chamili has really been giving them a bloody nose for some
time now.
Anyway, the video shot by Deddac is good in two areas – location and coloring. It’s shot at a
beach location. The only fault that seems following Chamili in most of his videos is the lack of a
storyline. It seems he concentrates more on gloss than balancing that with a bit of a storyline.

A storyline can sell your video to a wider audience that doesn’t necessary know you as an artiste,
or even speak your language. A storyline acts as a translator of the video.
Apart from that, Chamili’s videos are quite a good watch. A club banger of a hit. Good video.
