Katie Holmes
World renowned fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and film actress Katie Holmes who is also Tom Cruise’s wife are coming to Uganda on Monday. The celebrities are here on charity and they will be visiting UN Millennium Villages.
Hilfiger and Holmes will go to households and interview beneficiaries whose lives have been transformed in the Millennium Villages. They will also witness how mobile phones are being used to save lives of pregnant mothers and babies in remote and hard to reach areas.
The celebrities’ activities will also include witnessing how homes get connected to the shared solar mini-grid power using simple scratch cards and mobile phones
They will also commission classroom blocks at Nyakitunda and Bugongi villages in Western Uganda.
