App: Lookout Security & Antivirus 9.3 Premium

Protecting one’s phone from viruses is one of the most important aspects of owning a smart phone for effective use. Lookout is among those effective and easy to use antiviruses, especially in the upated version 9.3 premium. Lookout comes in free or Premium flavours. The free subscription gives the user four features: anti-malware protection, backup of contacts, remote Locate, and a remotely triggered Scream alarm. For Shs8,400 per month, or Shs84,000 annually, Lookout Premium adds backup of photos and call history, safe browsing, a Privacy Advisor that scans one’s phone for apps that might leak their information, remote Lock and Wipe capabilities, and the new Theft Alerts feature, which alerts one to unusual behaviour on their Android. The app’s design makes it clear that Lookout is protecting the smart phone. The start screen displays a dashboard with a live activity feed and shortcuts to features underneath. One will see which apps Lookout last scanned, when the app updated its malware definitions, and so on. It’s very intuitive, but also highly informative.
