VIGA awards to be held in January

Just after naming its nominees for the year 2015, VIGA Awards organisers have announced that the award ceremony will be held on January 16 and not in December as earlier indicated.
Going into their fourth season, the VIGA are Uganda’s premier annual gospel music awards.
The VIGA climax is always a prestigious red carpet gala that showcases some of the exceptional local gospel acts in the year.
According to Prince Nick Akaikai Nyombi, the CEO VIGA awards, the 2015 edition is set to come with lots of new and exciting aspects: “We will feature the launch of Chronicles ’90-’10; the golden era, a timeless souvenir archive of the developments and key players in Uganda’s gospel music industry since independence,” Nick said.
Nick also told us that this time round they plan to publish a magazine with profiles of the nominees, voting guidelines, and some industry news.
The VIGA awards will be held at Imperial Royale Hotel on January 16 starting at 4pm. Entrance will be Shs50,000 for ordinary and Shs100,000 for VIP.
