The only job I can accept from the President is his job – Frank Gashumba

Frank Gashumba is a renowned government critic who spends the better part of his day doing what he does best on several FM radio stations.

There were rumours that Gashumba, who heads the National Action For Awakening Uganda pressure group, had been offered a job by President Museveni to monitor all KCCA developments in the city. Hours later, Gashumba made a post asserting that the only job President Museveni can give him, is his office! Gashumba made it clear that his relationship with KCCA is about the boda boda industry. “I happen to be their patron.”

He added, “If President Museveni is willing to give me a job, it should be his presidency. Below that, no way… I’m comfortable where I am.” Gashumba is the chairman of Mali Group of Companies, which does general trading.

“My dream is to become a billionaire, then give some money to the poor, and you can’t be a billionaire when you are a salary earner,” Gashumba’s post read. i

Gashumba’s remarks come just days after he met President Museveni at his country home in Rwakitura.
