Radio and Weasel have not come out about their involvement in charitable causes in a very longtime. But on this one, the brothers need a round of applause. The duo recently revealed where some of their money goes to. They have been at the helm of financing St Maria Gorreti Primary School in Buziga for a very long time. Radio and Weasel are said to visit the school every once in a while to donate money to buy foodstuff and other necessities.
It’s only until a few weeks ago that the two opened up about their involvement in the school’s running. The school was started by a one Mrs Ssali on an unused piece of land that was occupied by homeless children. Mrs Ssali says Radio and Weasel were brought on board by another concerned citizen.
“They first facilitated me by investing in a poultry project in order to be able to sustain the school. But they later started extending financial assistance as well. I and all the children here are forever grateful to Radio and Weasel and we request other musicians to follow suit,” Mrs Ssali said.
Radio said they decided to extend a hand to the school because they realised how much the children needed help. “I personally grew up with help from different people. Even now, it’s music lovers that pay for the shows I do and I get something, so why not share the little with such people,” the singer told us.
Radio said that they intend to buy a bigger piece of land to expand the school. “We want the children to have enough space to enjoy all facilities like children in other schools. They should be able to play basketball and all those other games. We plan to make this cause bigger,” Radio added.
