Namubiru collapses at Mulago

Namubiru

Time check, 4.45pm, it is a Monday afternoon and its quite a dark Monday for the entire Kampala as teargas rocks different parts of the city. At Mulago hospital, it is a sombre mood for all journalists and friends of Gabriel Epenu. The NTV news anchor was involved in a car accident along the Kayunga Road that claimed his friend’s life. The anchor was admitted and he is in a critical condition.

Among the friends at Mulago hospital, was singer Iryn Namubiru, who by the look of things was directly taking care of Epenu, who she is rumoured to be in a relationship with. Iryn had been pacing up and down the private wing since morning; she made phone calls every now and again and was seen occasionally wiping her eyes with a handkerchief. However, at 4.45pm, Iryn rushed to her car, a black Toyota Cygnus and after a few minutes on phone, she passed out as she made her way back to the hospital ward.

Clad in brown leggings and a purple top, Iryn was rushed into the ward and given first aid. At this time, attention turned to Iryn, who spent a few hours hospitalised, before a nurse told us she was well at about 7pm.

The nurse did not divulge the reason behind Iryn’s passing out but onlookers concluded that she was stressed about Epenu’s condition. Quick recovery Epenu.
