Music meets comedy

Ever since Mirinda launched a comedy platform a few years ago, the comedy industry has grown compared to back then. This can be evident by the number of crowds comedy events have been pulling of late.

This Easter weekend, an event dubbed Entujjo ya Comedy entertained revelers in Kampala, Mukono and Jinja. The event which started at Laftaz Comedy Lounge in Kampala on Thursday later moved to Mukono’s Satellite Beach on Saturday and finally at Laftaz Comedy Lounge in Jinja on Easter Sunday.
All the events attracted a huge crowd but the response and hype by the revelers was not the same throughout.
Comedians who included Amooti, Mad Rat and Chicoo, Snake and Zolo, Mariachi and Mc Kapale among others entertained the revelers in all the three venues.
In Mukono, although the turn up was big, the crowd was dormant. While comedians were busy cracking jokes, the people in Mukono only looked and only cheered the artistes instead.
The climax of the Entujjo ya Comedy in Jinja was more organised; the show which occupied both Laftaz Jinja and the rugby grounds was a sellout.
Besides comedians, musicians Ziza Bafana, Winnie Nwagi and Sheeba Karungi also entertained the crowds.
