Last Friday, we told you that Jamaican singer Movado was set to perform in Kampala this December. Indeed, we had saw a video drop where the singer was confirming his trip to Kampala.
However, things seem to have changed for the organisers; Cece Entertainment who were also behind the flopped Sisqo concert a few months back. Word from our sources in Jamaica indicate that Movado called the organisers and told them he made a mistake in his invoice; “he (Movado) told the organisers that he had consulted Konshens, who was in Uganda a few weeks ago and wanted his pay increased by thousands of dollars, if he is to perform on New year’s eve” the source said.
According to the source, Cece Entertainment did not agree with Movado, with whom they had already signed a contract. “The two parties didn’t agree but Movado’s camp had not changed their stand until early this week.”
Born David Constantine Brooks, Movado is famous for his rivalry with Vybz Kartel, another Jamaican music icon currently in jail over murder charges. Movado is also known for songs like Settle Down, Come into My Room, Final Destination, Every Gal ft Chipmunk and his latest Action Pak.
However, a source from Cece Entertainment told us that everything was under control; “We had wanted Movado to perform on New Year’s Eve but he got another show in Guyana. He said he can only be in Uganda on December 29,” the source said.
But if all goes well, Movado is expected to perform alongside another Jamaican star Christopher Martin aka Chris Martin at a New Year’s show in Kampala.
