Monitor, NTV land SMA nominations

monitor
Nation Media Group brands, Daily Monitor and NTV Uganda have landed nods in the second edition of the Social Media Awards (SMAs).
NTV Uganda last year launched an app, NTV Mobi, which enables a smart phone user to watch their favourite television programme while on the move. This app set the trend for digital innovation and it is the reason NTV has garnered three nominations in this year’s SMAs scheduled for March 7. The awards seek to reward individuals and organisations that are at the forefront of using social media for entertainment, change, sharing of ideas, creating communities and talking to customers online.
NTV is nominated in the categories; Best Brand, Best Media Outlet and Best Innovation for the NTV Mobi app. Meanwhile Daily Monitor was also nominated in the Best Media Outlet category.
Nigerian sensation Tiwa Savage (pictured) behind hit songs like Kele Kele Love and Eminado is slated to perform at the awards gala that will be held at Golf Course Hotel.
